The Crowded Room
Gulit or grief. Which one can you bear?
Most trauma sufferers are re-experiencing real events that we cannot see. What we call disorder is, for them, a very reasonable way of escaping horror. To put it bluntly, they would be crazy not to be crazy.
I am out of words. Brilliantly crafted, deeply thought-provoking, and most importantly, the culmination of all my favourite genres in one single piece; literally WOW!! Psychological thriller + courtroom drama + sci-fi surrealism (mindscape scenes in the barn); it's like the chef put all the ingredients in perfect proportions and served you the most satisfying meal you've had in years.
Tommy, my God! Everyone was saying he didn't have any range. I dare y'all to watch this show and say that shit again, because you simply can't. I bet you can't deny the fucking effort he put into this show, and the results were impeccable.
Most of the reviews were praising Tommy, and I get it. I did too, and he absolutely deserves it. But Amanda!! She's extraordinary. She moved me. She is the real guardian angel, the Mother Mary. She made me cry twice. Amanda I love you so fucking much that I want you to be my therapist.
A big thank you to the entire crew and production team for making The Crowded Room happen. Thank you for using it to spread awareness about mental health and child sexual abuse. Thank you for including the helpline message at the end of each episode. You have no idea how much it means to someone who has been struggling with mental health since a very young age.
