It’s terrifying. It’s pathetic. It’s always been this way, but social media is only compounding it: getting to kids younger and incentivizing controversy for the creators. Louis Theroux is so funny. “You only have two eyes. You can do two, one, or none.” I love how he’ll ask a pretty basic question and his subjects are like, “Oh, you’re trying to trip me up, bro.” I laughed a lot but only so I wouldn’t cry.

3.75/5 Bone chilling. One of those movies that is horror without technically being *horror.* Every single one of the young actors was so good. Middle school boys in groups are the true terror.

4.25/5 Long live sets! Long live VFX being deployed strategically, not lazily. Long live puppetry! I am so maternal towards Rocky, and I love him (them?). Ryan Gosling is good too; I kid, I kid…he is great in both timelines. With a trust in science and a willingness to connect with those different from us, who knows what we could accomplish?

3.75/5 Very Ghibli coded. Sweet and whimsical and emotional. The rainbow sequences were beautiful, and the Earth of the not-too-distant future was believably ravaged. I should have seen the ending coming, but it made me cry! Caretaker robots always get me, for some reason.
