Fallen Angels
HAVEN’T WATCHED THIS MOVIE IN A REALLY LONG TIME LOLOLOL everyone here is allergic to intimacy. love is never spoken. it’s stalked, rehearsed in silence, acted out on strangers. visually though it’s a masterpiece. every shot has that aesthetic that appeals tome. distortion, smeared motion, time slipping sideways. it feels sweaty, intrusive, almost rude, as if the camera knows too much abt these people and refuses to look away. i used to love this movie back when i was 10 and idk why. it doesn’t explain itself, and it doesn’t care if u keep up. it just moves, like the city. the film understands that loneliness isn’t always loud. sometimes it’s invasive, sometimes it’s pathetic, sometimes it’s embarrassing. what rlly gets me is how movement replaces meaning. everyone is always going somewhere, doing something, riding, running, killing, selling, as if stopping would mean admitting they’re empty. the camera never settles, the frames warp, time slips. overall, (i 4got most of the storyline here) but i still luv this movie back in pandemic. totally a recommended one.
