the idea of three starkly different people living in a wintry 70s boarding school over christmas is such an oppressively isolating idea. what’s great about this film is that it takes this idea and shows you one of the most touching and heartwarming on screen friendships to date. it’s like the film is staring you in the face and telling you that things are only as bad as you think they can be. also labi siffre in the soundtrack is a treat

very fun movie that uses its silliness to tell a beautifully poignant story about being nostalgic for a world you’ve never lived in. also you get to hear saoirse ronan recite poetry
