Poor Things
Yes I am a defender of this film.
I quiet understand some controversial facts of the film itself like the mental age of Bella and the things that she did or happend to her at that mental age, but I think it's a matter of perspective and I also know that the director being a man doesn't help.
Bella it's a perfect done character who represents the beginning of life without any imposed social ideas and the course of life ending up know what life is and what is to be a woman. Throughout the film she learnt the reallity of the hardest things you have to do to survive in a world full of conventions of polite society with her freedom (and freedom sexuality).
I know why many people don't see this as a realistic woman empowerment because of its very confused storytelling but I think it's the perfect and most beautifull artistic way to express this idea. First Yorgos' film I've seen (I'm embarrassed that this late) and I LOVED it.
