Bože! Naši ljudi su nevjerovatno inatljivi.
*Jel ti to sin.
Jeste. Sin...*
Bro i nearly cried at that scene.
This is a masterpiece of Ex-Yugoslav cinema. This might be the most dramatic and saddening piece of Cinema coming from this region that I've seen and it is criminally underrated.
This movie shows the stubbornness of Balkan people in such a realistic way, that astonishes me. Inat is the driving factor of this movie, as it was the driving factor for this whole conflict in the first place. Every character in this film has it in a good or bad way. This is what makes this movie so inherently Balkan.
For me this movie overshadows movies like Quo Vados, Aida? or Grbavica from a dramaturgical perspective by far. For this reason I hate that this movie is so underrated. Reasons for that might be that in contrary to other films about this topic this movie was made by Serbs and not Bosniaks and even tells a story from a primarly serb perspective which might deter some viewers. Another reason might be the dialogues that seem kinda laconic for some viewers who are not from BiH but they are indeed just a representation of the way these Inat-driven Balkaners talk.
For me the movie should be approached from a human perspective and not the narrative of one side of the whole Yugoslav Beef. The movie seems to take the approach of Kusturica's Život je Čudo on War, Guilt and Love from the Serb perspective but makes it more realistic and sad in a way that reminds me of the work of *Theo Angelopoulos.

I'm just amazed on how good this film is on a emotional and dramatical level and I wished it would be more popular among fellow Balkan-Movie-Enjoyers.
**And please correct the description of this film. It plays in the Hercegovina!!! There is a reason why the country is called Bosnia and Herzegovina!
