Evil Dead meets Triangle of Sadness. I’m so glad Dylan is getting more roles nowadays; he deserves it so much.

Irreversible is a good film, and it definitely accomplishes what it sets out to do. It’s super intense, both visually and sonically, and it really stays with you after watching it. That said, I kind of wish more women had been involved in this story. With a topic like this, a male perspective can miss certain emotional layers that feel important. A lot of what happens before Monica Bellucci appears felt a bit unnecessary to me. The movie is very graphic and clearly tries to provoke a strong reaction, which it does really well. I understand why that one scene is so long, it forces you to sit with it, but since the film is already so focused on sexual content almost the entire time, it loses its impact/goal. It feels like some parts go a little too far or drag more than needed.

I watched it with a friend in the basement during a Tornado Watch, so yeah… It was surprisingly really good; it’s truly a horror film. Susan Tyrrell’s performance made me extremely uncomfortable, it kept going places I didn’t expect, the cop kept pissing me off, and it was very 80s slasher which I liked. Also, I love how versatile the killer was, they didn’t stick to just one weapon, so it was fun! Certain moments reminded me of many films: - Friday the 13th - Final Destination - Carrie - Cría Cuervos - Psycho (Norman Bates) - Pearl
