Wicked

I’m not someone who’s crazy about musicals. I went into this film thinking that it was going to be too girly for me. Turns out that wasn’t the case at all. In terms of negative aspects of the film i’d say the only thing that bugged me was the fact that the story was longed out more than it should’ve been. However, I can only praise the film for everything else apart from that. The soundtrack was memorable, Ariana Grande was fantastic not only musically but also was great acting-wise - which was a surprise for me, after her early works in Nickelodeon shows such as Sam & Cat and Victorious. The story managed to blend quite well into the timeline and universe of The Wizard of Oz (which I quite liked). Overall, I’d rate the film a 4/5, whilst I came into it thinking it wasn’t gonna be “my thing” it entertained me a lot more than i expected, however I don’t think that this film has completely won me over with the whole musical genre of films.
