Why make a quality continuation of an already great movie (that didn't need it) when you can recycle old actually iconic moments, overuse every word that's been worn to shreds on all social media platforms, overexaggarate the quirkiness of the main character, waste screen time on a bland love interest for said main character, remove almost of the sass from the characters known for being sassy in favour of: 1. making one softer and more palatable to audiences but still making them make her be the steretypical "old person who doesn't care about being politically correct" joke 2. making another a weak indecisive antagonist by putting in a supreficial beef that doesn't mean anything by the end of the film cuz we get told she's not only forgiven but also told she's iconic so she must be iconic! And then on top of all of this make the conclusion a billionare jumping in just in time to save everyone's ass cuz we never had any stakes to begin with!! All of this while being being dressed like an unwanted SATC reboot basked in washed out, colorless lightning that's being used in so many movies and TV shows nowadays you get shocked when you see actual color! The only positives left are Nigel being Nigel, it kinda cares about journalistic integrity and it's last minute anti-AI message. Honestly I felt like the movie it was trying to shove how "iconic" it is down my dry throat 🤩
