Perfect Days
One of the better slice of life movies I’ve seen. I think it works because he’s a resident of Tokyo and many foreigners may look at his life and think wow he gets to be around incredible architectural and design ingenuity.. daily. Even the public toilets he has to clean look like art installations. The calcified western brain could never. I think it’s a great study on the introvert. It was especially apparent with his family interactions. Koji’s silent wisdom is surreal. I can understand that alone or not; you can’t escape your psychology unless you let yourself observe the environment you’re in, allowing those strangers into your life every now and again. Favourite Wim Wenders movie I’ve seen so far.
