Dancer in the Dark

Unapologetically sad. Everything about this movie is done to make you as depressed as possible. And I can't explain why, but I love it so much. Björk is one of the weirdest casting choices but it pays off immensely well. Not only is she a great singer, and makes all the musical scenes that much better, but she is also an extremely, extremely talented actress. Seldom do you find someone who can pull off a performance that makes you that sympathetic for them. The musical scenes were a treat, all though I couldn't hear most of the lyrics because the sound mixing was trash for me. But they never really made you happy, they always kept you at least somewhat grounded in this awful world she lives in. Without a doubt one of the most dreadful movies.... 5/5 97/100
