Fallen Angels
Never seen a movie play with so many genres and master them all. Crime, the main genre is done to perfection. Each gunfight scene was so much fun, the chaotic camera angels and deaths look messy on the surface but they are able to pull it off in a way like no other film. While maybe not fully delved into, the hitman business aspect and the psychological toll it has on the hitman was a topic I don't see touched on enough.
Romance, there are a couple relationships and there all given the attention they deserve. They are all somehow unlike any onscreen romance I've seen. The most unexpected genre of the film, and possibly my favorite, is Comedy. Wong Chi-ming's backstory and overall demeanor left me on multiple occasions unable to stop laughing, especially the ice cream scene. And honestly he might be one of my favorite characters ever, he's just so unique.
And you can't talk about this movie and not mention how absolutely amazing the cinematography is, easily some of my favorite shots of all time. The tunnel scenes alone left me breathless. This entire movie just oozes sexy ass style.
