"boys will be boys" but at what cost? it's so easy to ignore comments made or pretend like there aren't any signs because it isn't cool to call people out, you know? It isn't cool to be sensitive; it isn't cool to be undesirable it's way easier to blame someone or once again, to ignore. but it's irresponsible to just wait for people to grow up. Patriarchy is a problem that is actively killing our youth. It is disgusting how woman-hating content is so prevalent in the media, and just as disgusting to see how much of it comes from prominent leaders in our schools, churches, and even from the White House. But we all play a role when we pretend we didn't hear a joke or even for a brief moment forget the humanity of our fellow people We can't love and objectify; we can't love and seek power over someone else - but love has to win.
