*“We are only here briefly, and in this moment I want to allow myself joy.”*

Now that the live action has been confirmed and is actually in the works this very moment, I decided to give this another rewatch. —————————————————- I miss this animation style so much. 😭😭😭 FLAWLESS in the best way that makes the modern style look flat and less innovative. Fun Fact: I admired the work of this film so much that I took animation classes in high school with a teacher who previously worked for Cartoon Network. Let me begin by saying that the amount of work that goes into animating every single movement in every single frame takes a whole lot of patience, tedious - hard work, and dedication to the craft. (in other words, blood, sweat, and tears) This is why Tangled’s attention to detail and the overall visual style amazes me. I myself am an artist and find the smallest of details so pleasing to the eye and this style blows me away every single time. In addition, though it’s been praised time and time again, what makes this film stand the test of time is the score, the soundtrack, and storyline. The film is so well paced, never boring, and each character is well thought out and performed with emotion. Just overall, witnessing the amount of passion that brought this film to life gets me with every rewatch, and never seems to never loose its magic and nostalgia.

What made this film enjoyable was that it did have moments that called back to the original, in order to set the plot of the film. Not only do people come back to sequels to experience the same characters but the story, as well. When this isn’t the case, the whole narrative gets lost when past events get left out and a whole new script emerges, paying no homage to the original. However**, **in **The Devil Wears Prada 2, **that was not the case**. **It was quite a decent film, that although dragged here and there, was quite redeemable, through till the end. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For me, the most outstanding parts of the film were definitely the soundtrack and the cameos. As iconic as the fashion industry is in the real world, why wouldn’t you bring them in. It felt like early 2000’s-2010’s nostalgia where celebrity cameos became such a huge thing in film and television, even though in this one, the main stars are quite famous themselves.

I just wish the animation of the secondary and background characters, as well as the fictional world created was consistent with the animation of the main characters. Definitely wouldn’t be considered a classic and left many plot holes crucial to the plot but it was cute for what it was, nothing more.

I absolutely adored this movie
