- limited character development - shot well - took 33 minutes for the film to start - took 1 hour find out character motivation - every scene dragged, bad pacing - Taron Egerton was great and gave unsettling performance but his characters motivation was unclear - main character was cool - liked the bookend

Masterclass in blocking. Actors positioned in a way like a painting keeping the scene interesting. Characters influenced camera movement. Every close up felt intentional. Realistic characters.

The movie was gripping, stressful at all times and as unlikeable as the protagonist was, I was still rooting for him and his ambition. The film was longer than average yet felt perfectly paced and wished it kept going on.

Spoiler warning: Emotionally exhausted, fantastic acting from Hugh Jackman, always love Jake Gyllenhaal's characters. Great ethical dilemma with how Dover acted. Left a sour taste in my mouth that the ending didn’t show Dover reunite with his daughter even though that’s what the main complication was.
