Get Out
Jordan Peele is masterful at making you never really feel at ease here (regardless of predicability), throwing so much unsettling imagery at you (and leaves the unseen implications just as disturbing). Impressive how it’s able to be so refreshingly modern while still drawing on classic horror. Kaluuya is Oscar-worthy and has real chemistry with Allison Williams, whose multi-sided character feels already iconic. Peele’s humor still shines through, and combined with the roller coaster of a plot and on-the-nose but important commentary, this film feels like the whole package. So creepy, so relevant.
