Gladiator

The score, acting and cinematography of this film are all incredible especially the score as it just fits the tones so well. The story is amazing and drags you in from the very start by having incredibly tense situations and jaw dropping action sequences. The character of Maximus is portrayed as a heroic and strong leader who hides away his personal struggles in order to complete his mission. Which is not just vengeance rather to find inner peace in order to find his family in the afterlife. Contrasting this is the character of Commodus who is characterised as a dishonorable and weak leader who rules as a tyrant to control rome and the people of it. The whay he falls from grace is incredible as he slowly becomes more infatuated with his power and he will stop at nothing to keep it, including threatening the life of his own family. One man has no family and cares deeply for them still wilst the other has a family yet lacks care for any of them but himself
