The Thing
Genuinely horrific. The thing makes my skin crawl with its gruelling and unsettling appearances. The tension is unbearable at times and forces a huge sense of ignorance upon the audience as they never truly know who is real. The setting of Antarctica plays a huge role in the horror of this film, from the subtle fog to the chilling and dark sky. The Thing is grotesque, brutal and haunting making it a landmark in visual horror and a reminder of the fear of the unknown.
