They wouldn’t let the big Mickey fuck the little Mickey because of woke

I tried to suspend my disbelief with the rapid progression of rabies, I really did. I will give it points for being quick, to the point in its simple and succinct plot. It wasn’t the worst, it was fun. That being said, I think the chimp having ‘aura’ was possibly a cheap shot at comedy and ultimately made me disengage with Ben as a character. To me it was as a poorly received fourth wall break, rather than something clever. Though, this isn’t a film that seems particularly interested in being taken seriously.

I know for certain that Brad Pitt hasn’t seen AMC’s Interview with the Vampire, because he would have killed himself immediately after seeing Jacob Anderson’s astounding portrayal of Louis. While Cruise and Dunst both lent themselves completely to their respective characters, Pitt’s Louis is just…… flat? uninspired? monotonous? Any of those words are too generous. I’ve read the book, and watched the AMC show, but tried to focus to the former when making comparisons. 1994 Louis is depressed - and that is IT! There is nothing to him as a person! Brad Pitt, I admit begrudgingly, IS an esteemed actor and I fail to see how the source material was so violently flattened by him. I say not for him, as I can’t even put it down to a scripting issue as the other performances were exceptional. Louis, even in the book, is a complex character, Brad Pitt shows us virtually none of that. I am loathe to rewatch it because of this, I only ever feel inclined to do so because the performance given by an 11 year old so greatly outshines his.
