first of all, i don't play about din djarin he's literally one of my favourite star wars characters (aside from luke skywalker) and i fucking love the first 2 seasons of the mandalorian but holy shit this film was AWFUL. as much as i tried to defend/justify this film's existence when it was announced there's genuinely 0 reason for it to exist. din's story, ARGUABLY, should've ended in the finale for mandalorian s2 and maybe s3 if i'm pushing it but this film is so nonsensical and a waste of time i don't understand why it couldn't have just been an additional season if people are apparently desperate to see din milked for content because watching this in the cinema was painfully mind numbing. there's so many scenes of characters just standing around and staring at each other for some reason?? this isn't entertaining to me. everyone is SO underdeveloped and 2d like there was nothing wrong with SOME of the performances themselves but it clearly lacked emotion. cameo slop is kinda all new star wars is now like i don't wanna soy face at the screen anytime jabba is mentioned or zeb says something BECAUSE I DONT CARE!!!! please do something original!!!! if you're gonna give din a sidekick then let it be bo katan WHO HE ALREADY HAS AN EXISTING FRIENDSHIP WITH. it's so obvious they regret killing off cad bane and instead of an original design they just made him a knock off cad bane. "hey remember this guy we killed off in the book of boba fett? this new guy looks pretty similar to him, isn't that cool?" NO. i hated the hutts speaking in perfect english it was so immersion breaking to hear jabba's son have an american accent and i love jeremy allen white but he didn't fit well imo. the mandalorian was so much better when it was separated from the main star wars plotline. if you're gonna adapt a tv show then at least use material from said tv show instead of forcing an expanded cinematic universe that braindead star wars glazers will love because they lack any critical thinking skills to realise what they're watching is an abysmal mess solely because they already like the characters and will eat up anything related to then regardless of how mediocre or bad it is. instead of letting din djarin have the spotlight we HAVE to have half the runtime dedicated to Grogu Cute Moments because he sells and maybe enough baby sound effects will convince the audience to subscribe to disney+ and perhaps buy some grogu merchandise. good things about this film uh..... on the rare occasion it looks good for a couple minutes, i like the score and marty scorsese had easily the best performance. the rise of skywalker is bad in a funny way but this is just straight up unwatchably bad. i hate david filoni
