Hawkeye
I too didn't make it home for Christmas this year, though my enemy isn't so much a big cynical mob boss, as it is the novel coronavirus instead.
Hawkeye might honestly be one of my favorite of the new MCU-series. It's more grounded than most of the other series and it was a most needed departure from the intensity of the universe altering stakes that has been present in most of the recent films and tv-shows within the MCU.
I'm not usually a big fan of Jeremy Renner, but luckily he wasn't totally insufferable in the series. Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh had a great on screen chemistry which ended up as one of the show's highlights.
Now the series' finally was somewhat lackluster, and while the return of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin was a great addition, the final episode was both rushed and stuffed. The relationship between Kate Bishop and Clint Barton was in the end well rounded, but the overall conflict never felt fully resolved. I'm not entirely sure what I expected from it, but I had hoped for a more resolute ending.
It is interesting to see where this show will lead in the future, but I'm more fond of the thought of it being more of a stand-alone offering, though I know it isn't. Either way I did enjoy it.
