park chan-wook you mfer why are you so good at making movies. 21 minutes longer, but 21 more minutes make this even more of a 5 star film. i only found out recently that there was a Director’s Cut, so i decided to watch that instead of rewatching the Theatrical Cut. and i think i made the right choice. the mixture of drama, thriller, eroticism, and wondering what the FUCK is going on is enriched. …….….but i have to say that the pacing and narrative framing of the theatrical version just hits so. much. harder. if you’re gonna watch this for the first time, watch the Theatrical Cut. i refuse to say anymore because it will spoil it. go watch this.
