Dune: Part Two
“Do you know why I killed him? Because, he was a man who believed in the rules of the heart, but the heart is not meant to rule. In other words, your father was a weak man.”*
A tragedy on why to be cautionary of figure heads, cults, and people who present themselves with power. Paul falls into the exact trap he tried to free himself of throughout the film, and it’s heartbreaking. *
He becomes this prophet, sent down to ‘save these people’, with the prophecy that follows him following his exact actions. Reinforced with every time the words’
“As Written!” And “As the prophecy says!”*The moment he defies even his confessions of love and chooses to make the Emperor’s daughter his wife is heart breaking. With I think the best shot sequence in the entire film being where he gets down to kiss the ring and every one kneels but Princess Irulan, Paul, and Chani. With Paul being stuck in the middle. Just phenomenal.

I need to rewatch this movie.
Also, adding this. Javier Bardem and Timothee Chalamet both put in phenomenal performances. While I think Austin Butler was great as well, just wish there was more depth to his character like in the books.
