Before I begin saying what I liked about this movie, I feel that I should mention will say the only issue I had with this movie is not it's fault. I had the twist with Rachel in this movie spoiled for me which in turn made this a much less effective than if I went in blind, but I still think this is a pretty decent movie. The story is still really good for what this is. I do really enjoy the almost slow and uncomfrotable transition into a psychological drama in the film. Pattinson and Zendaya are two of them are fighting for the best performance. Both actor's have some really good chemistry as well. Never got to see this in the theaters, and I am little disappointed I had the twist in this movie given away but I still thought this was a really solid film.

Rewatched The Batman for the first time in a while, it’s been 4 years since this movie released and we’re still a year away from it’s sequel. I’m still just impressed how well this holds up. A detective story that still feels ripped straight out of a comic book. Complimented by Fraiser’s cinematography, Pattinson’s performance (cementing him as the best live action Batman imo), and Giacchino’s score, the excellent set and costume design all coming together beautifully to create the most authentic love letter and adaptation to this character.

Haven’t seen this it’s theatrical run, and I still love this movie so much rewatching it today. I said this in my initial review of the film but Superman succeeds at the exact same thing The Batman in that everything here is so lovingly crafted and well told it feels like its story and characters were ripped straight from the comics. Almost like the yin to The Batman’s yang. Where The Batman is this gritty noir detective story this is the more fantastical and colorful cartoon harkening back to the tone of things like Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and the DCAU. Even if this movie incorporates elements from the broader DC universe it still feels like solely a Superman film. David Corenswet is perhaps the most perfect actor since Christopher Reeves to really embody everything that makes Superman well Superman. Corenswet perfectly plays Clark’s wholesome country bumpkin act with the perfect amount of corniness and being a dork. Superman should ultimately be a character that isn’t ashamed to wear his heart on his sleeve and Corenswet perfectly captures and contrasts that with the big city cynicism of Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane who together create a duo that just oozes romantic chemistry with each other. I’d even go as far to say the best chemistry in all of comic book movie history. Nicolas Hoult as Lex Luthor as gives a generational performance he captures everything I feel both Hackman and Eisenberg failed to capture. Hoult perfectly embodies the ego, intellect, and pure hatred of Superman. The scene of Lex crying tears of pure rage after his defeat just cemented this as one of my favorite comic book film performances and completely erased any doubt I held previous to this movie’s release I had when I heard Hoult was playing the character. The ending also just never fails to get me, the pure love and hope I feel during that scene always makes me tear up. I’m so excited to see the direction Gunn and Safran have for this interpretation of Superman and his world in the future. Also please merge the universes I need Robert Pattinson and David Corenswet together in a World’s Finest movie for the DCU.

Having finished LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight compelled me to rewatch The LEGO Batman Movie. I think why both of those projects works so well is because while they poke fun at the history and world of this character but you could tell the filmmakers still really love and adore this character, it's a genuine celebration and love letter to Batman one of the most recognizable figures in pop culture. And it's why I honestly think in the entirety of Batman's cinematic history The LEGO Batman Movie ranks within the top 3 of Batman movies....fight me on that. If you somehow have missed out on this movie I sincerely implore you to check this out.
