charlie put this on and then subsequently didn't watch it so i just sat and watched it again. I had literally just watched it two hours beforehand so my opinions are exactly the same as beforehand

this is a great expose at how genuinely deplorable some humans are. Very well weaved together, interviews, archival footage, and the occasional completely ridiculous quotes from the trial against one of the people from SeaWorld. How some people speak about these creatures in this is completely disgusting, and o hope that some restorative justice had been done since this has been released.

Jesse Eisenberg is such a powerful director, and has gone from feat to feat, and hams up the comedy in The Debut. This film is killer, I am a complete sucker for theatre within film and this one does it perfectly, using theatre as a vessel for change in the films lead, played tremendously by Julianne Moore, who will almost definetley be in Oscar contention this year. Paul Giamatti also does a truly tremendous job in this film, and this film is written so beautifully and makes for an incredibly tremendous character arc for lead Mona Friedman from Giamattis character Jerry. Bernadette Peters appears as a sort of theatre Jesus, and I think that’s the perfect role for her, as that is sort of exactly what she is, a theatre Jesus Overall this is a phenomenally paced jam packed character study of a broken women who sees the lights and shines, and creates dynamite.
