The Shining

Kubrick’s shining is one of my favorite horror movies.. BUT.. this mini series is equally as good in my eyes. The movie stands alone as a scary and incredible horror film but this series really fleshes out the novel and allows you to really get a feel for the overlook and it’s dark history. We get to see Jack’s slow decent into madness, and although he’s no Jack Nicholson, he still portrays such a crazy and terrifying Jack Torrence.  Wendy is also more fleshed out here and as is Danny in my opinion and I just loved every second of this, bad cgi and all!  I don’t think it’s fair to compare the two, as each movie gives you something different. But this Shining is definitely for King fans.
