Truly one of the best films - if not *the *best film i’ve ever seen. Yet, it is a piece of media I will likely never watch again. It is almost incomprehensible to think that humans are capable of committing such acts of violence and cruelty against millions of innocent people, yet Come and See shows us just how ruthless humans can be. It delivers on its promise of being an anti war film, likely being one of the few true anti war films ever made, as it condemns almost every part of war. It does not glorify combat, and it shows how war affects populations rather than exclusively soldiers. A truly devastating, hopeless piece of media, that everyone should see before they die.
