Alien

A true classic. I believe this film was held back by its time. There are so many microscopic moments within Alien where Ridley Scott’s vision shines through, and it makes you admire the thought that went into even the smallest parts of the movie. The Alien universe obviously exploded after Aliens, but I think this edgy, thriller horror vibe suits the creature so much more. Alien is an all-time great that so clearly influences modern horror in many ways. It is under appreciated as a true genesis of many of the tropes seen in science fiction classics ranging from directly after its release to today. 9/10
