Frankenstein
Just a fantastic film.
While adjustments are inevitable when translating works from page to screen, the changes made never drastically altered the characters core traits. They add depth that emphasizes and elevates the juxtaposing qualities of both Victor and the Monster.
It is as faithful an adaptation as it can be, perfectly mirroring the emotional tone and striking imagery of the novel. Couple that with stellar main cast performances and a heartbreaking soundtrack, this was the first movie experience in a long time where people clapped at the end, and I think that should count for something.
