Blade Runner
Such an 80s movie in every way. Typical one liners and dialogue. But also in a cool way that is kind of like a bubble of what the 80s thought the direction culture would evolve in. We held on to art deco and brutalist architecture, as well as blocky and retro car designs like the contact and delorean. The only thing that technologically progressed were the contents like flying cars to get around ofcourse. But only in the way the film tech of that time could tell this story. No CGI no after effects only make up, beautiful lighting and an insane and timeless soundtrack that guides the story along and lets us enjoy the moment as a beautiful objective moment. No good guys and no bad guys, just people with different stories and endings. You don’t get that kind of storytelling anymore, it’s everything and should be.
