Alien
So, I’ve gotta admit, I was pretty bitchy about watching Alien for the longest time. Like, I kept putting it off and refusing because I wasn’t sure what to expect or if I’d really be into it. But someone close to me told me to watch it a few times, I still said no.. But finally, I gave in, and wow, was I blown away.
Ridley Scott’s Alien is seriously a game changer. It’s this perfect mix of sci fi and horror that just sticks with you. Even though it came out way back in 79, it still feels fresh and totally influential. The atmosphere is crazy intense, the suspense is on another level, and the alien design? Absolutely iconic!!!! scary as hell even now.
From the very beginning, the movie drops you into this bleak, tight spaceship, and the tension just slowly builds up. When the crew stumbles on that alien egg, things go from weird to full on nightmare mode. The pacing is slow but in a good way, it makes you feel that creeping dread before everything hits the fan.
Visually, Alien is next level. The set design feels gritty and real, like a future you could actually believe in. And the alien? It’s this crazy mix of mechanical and organic that still freaks me out just thinking about it. </3
The music really ups the tension, and Ridley Scott’s direction is so sharp, every shadow and corridor feels like it could hide something deadly.
All in all, Alien isn’t just some old ass monster movie. It’s a masterclass in building suspense and telling a tight story about survival, loneliness, and even corporate greed. If you’re into sci-fi or horror, or just great movies in general, you’ve gotta check this one out. I’m glad I finally stopped being stubborn and gave it a chance! :)
