My dad put this on a couple of weeks ago, and while got to watch the opening sequence I was completely engrossed as I typically find myself to be with most Spielberg films! The man is genuinely one of the greatest film makers of all time!

Ended up watching again with the new footage, which was fine, it was cool to see more of the found footage and especially since it was from A-Sync perspective, but it was a little dragged out. If you like the YouTube series where they get a little technical you’ll probably enjoy this! The new footage however isn’t enough for me to recommend seeing this again, I would say probably wait for this to be on YouTube or when it will inevitably will be a special feature on the Blu-ray.

Don’t understand the insane hate this is getting, it’s just kind of mid that leaves a bit to be desired. The visuals are a bit dull, script falls victim to telling not showing at points, and there’s an egregious amount of needle drops in this to the point it’s kind of annoying. That last needle drops while not like satans asshole like twitter is saying, did make me audibly laugh in my theater because of how dumb it is. There were also a few shots that felt kind of wonky, my guess is that they were meant to be homages to comic panels, as that’s how they kind of looked and felt like they would work well as comics, but they just didn’t translate well at all. I know the movie had a lot of issues with a composer, I believe it cycled through 3, definitely 2 since I remember Junkie xl leaving it not super long before release which is why it was so troubling. I wonder if that’s why there are so many needle drops? All the cameos were cool, did enjoy those, Superman shows up which is awesome and reiterates why I love Corenswet as Superman so much! Jason Momoa is fabulous as Lobo and I wish he was in more of the film! Also Miley Alcock is awesome as Supergirl, and am looking forward to seeing her in more DC projects! Also, slight tangent, but I felt the side plot of we can’t kill main baddy because revenge is bad, which I get, but the dude was like space hitler, he was straight massacring people for fun, killing families left and right, and then straight kidnapping young girls as child brides so they could “repopulate their male only race” ( a genuine line from the movie) so like, yes revenge bad, but I feel like killing space hitler would have been somewhat fine.
