Hellbender
There’s untapped potential in Hellbender, but as it stands right now it’s an unpolished movie with some grand ideas. There are some cool visuals to go along with its heavy metal feel but a lot of times it just looks wacky when in the real world. Also I think the cinematography of this movie is really good but is detracted from by the exposure and overall set design. The sound design for this movie is great as well, but the audio quality for the actors is absolutely dreadful. Actors were a mix bag, some were decent and basically all the side characters were just bad. The daughter’s acting had some really good visual acting but verbally wasn’t that good. Characters are intriguing and weirdly unnatural in a good way but they just become the typical cookie cutter characters. The story and script also had potential but in the end was lackluster and poorly executed. I know this was basically a close family’s project and I think it’s really cool they were able to get a movie made. But in the end I think they either didn’t have the budget, time, or money to be able to fully bring this film to life.
