Incredible show insanely engaging i was hooked so strongly i finished the whole thing in less than three days. Does feel a bit toothless in how none of the characters are even close to how corrupt and evil actual current day American government is or the English. All the politicians and govt figures are flawed in a nuanced way that brings up that toothless feeling quite a bit. They kinda get there with Grace but don’t go far enough. Now this isn’t a criticism I felt harm my enjoyment of the show while watching it it’s more of a hindsight realization. Its a fun political drama that limply pokes at how rotten the real thing actually is but never quite penetrates the skin. The G7 walk out thing made me oddly sentimental and tear up mostly because of how far current reality and political figures are from taking any such moral stand so the show did manage to have an emotional impact in its own way.

Still pretty great enjoyed it a bit more on the second watch actually maybe cause i love and adore Matthew rhys now. Felt funnier on a rewatch and I appreciated all the foreshadowing and little details they put in that makes a rewatch worth itz

Not really a big fan of reality tv and this being one of my first big dive ins might have me feeling critical of things that are just foundational to the genre. Really hated all the dramatics around things that felt really inconsequential like the contestants were constantly hamming things up. Im aware it makes it a better more entertaining watch for most people im just a miserable brooding chud in the corner of the party. That doesn’t mean I completely refused to have any fun though because I did enjoy the authentic moments of drama during the roundtable holds awkward moments and confrontations etc. Back to being a miserable cow, really hated the tasks segment of the show’s format. Tried to enjoy them at first but they were so uninteresting they eventually became fun phone breaks before they got back to the interesting bits. Idk make them more engaging by having the traitors have some risky sidetasks to manage (which they tried in one episode and it did feel better than the rest). Do think the winnings going to a charity of choice makes the contestents care less as well feel like they should find more interesting stakes that make the celebrity contestants more engaged or at least make the audience believe they’re more engaged than they are maybe then they’d feel okay about cutting down on having them gasping and cawing at every plastic skeleton or whatever. Also the music is horrible jesus christ man. Show has a lot of problems but i am a sucker for among us and myhala so i had to watch the whole thing for the former after the latter reason disappeared in episode 2 or 3.
