Arrival
Wow wow wow.
Easily the best science fiction movie I’ve watched so far.
Arrival is a film that goes against the regular depictions of aliens in media and presents them as a different communication form, a species looking to unite the human race. The non binary storytelling is superb and comes together so nicely at the end.
This has never been my type of film but wow it is amazing. The performance from Amy Adams is one of the best I’ve ever witnessed, unbelievably devastating and rich in care and passion.
My rating was sitting at a 4.5 until that last 20 minutes which was just incredible, rising my score to a 5/5.
Masterpiece. Denis’ best film for me.
