Before Sunset
This is a perfect film. I genuinely cannot think of a single thing I would change about it. What makes Before Sunset so special is that it takes something as simple as two people having a conversation and turns it into one of the most engaging movies I’ve ever seen. I could listen to Jesse and Céline talk for hours because every conversation feels natural, meaningful, and completely authentic. The dialogue is so well written that it never feels like a script but rather like you’re listening to two real people reconnect after years apart. The setting plays a huge role in why the movie works so well. Walking through Paris alongside the characters makes every conversation feel more intimate and alive. The scenery never distracts from what they’re saying, but instead enhances it, creating a romantic and reflective atmosphere that perfectly matches the tone of the film. Every location feels purposeful, and the movie somehow makes an ordinary afternoon feel incredibly significant. What I love most is how much emotion the film is able to create through such small moments. There are no major twists or dramatic set pieces, yet every conversation carries weight because of the history between the characters and the opportunities they may have missed. As the movie progresses, you become just as invested in their relationship as they are. The ending is what elevates the movie from great to perfect for me. It’s one of my favorite endings of all time and the main reason I think this movie is significantly better than Before Sunrise. Rather than giving the audience a neat and complete resolution, it ends at exactly the right moment and leaves you feeling every emotion that the characters are experiencing. It’s a simple ending, but it’s absolutely unforgettable and the perfect conclusion to everything that came before it. I'm almsot used to movies butchering romantic endings so the surprise of this one getting it right made me very happy
