Get Out
My favorite horror movie of all time. This is exactly the type of horror film I enjoy, where you know something is wrong from the beginning, but the movie slowly reveals the truth piece by piece. Get Out does an amazing job building that mystery and keeping the audience constantly uncomfortable without giving away too much. The reveal involving the photographs is one of the most effective moments in the movie because it completely changes how you view everything that came before it. What makes the movie so great is its mastery of suspense. Jordan Peele creates tension in almost every scene, making even ordinary conversations feel unsettling. Instead of relying on constant jump scares, the film builds dread through atmosphere, small details, and the feeling that something isn’t quite right. As the story progresses, that tension only grows stronger until everything finally comes together. Beyond being a great horror movie, Get Out is also an incredibly smart one. It manages to tell an engaging and suspenseful story while giving the audience plenty to think about after it’s over. Few horror movies have kept me this invested from beginning to end, which is why it’s still my favorite in the genre.
