Arrival
"If you could see your whole life from the start to finish, would you change things?"
IN SHOCK HONESTLY.... I thought this was one of those typical extraterrestrial movies but NUH UH.... I love it.
Firstly, I loved the score of the film. You can't help but resonate with the emotions oozing out of the screen. It amplifies the mood and continues to shroud the ending of the film in mystery. Complimented with the color grading of certain scenes just make this all the more brilliant.
I've watched my fair share of alien or monster featured films before but this was quite different. In all their interactions, you are caught in dismay balancing watching it in both awe and fear. I don't know how the film was able to encapsulate both the beautifulness and the menacing portrayal of an alien.
Finding out that this was directed by THE Denis Villeneuve, who is also behind films such as Dune: Part One, Dune: Part Two, Prisoners, Incendies, and Blade Runner 2049, just goes to show how special the movie is. Loved the movie! Never felt this much emotion in an extraterrestrial movie.
