Visaranai
Unsettling to watch. This is a thriller disguised to be a horror movie.
It's a horror because it excels in dread. Its raw sound design, the croaking of the frogs, cracking of bones just intensify the bleakness of this story.
The performances...never have I ever seen something so real. It looked extremely real. It seemed like they were going through every possible ways of pain imaginable.
This should have won an Academy Award for Best International Feature film, let alone a nomination. It's absolutely worthy of being an entry to the oscars.
(In a way, this is like 'Sirai'. But the complete fucking opposite of this.)
I guess in the end, the innocent are the victims and the malevolent are the winners. But it is nice to see that there are efforts made to fight this and yet I still can't shake this feeling of dread that 9 times out of 10, things will not go our way.
Dread.
