Coming from a person who has only seen the Brian de Palma version, I think that episodes 1-7 of this show do a modern, TV show adaptation of Carrie very well. They keep the core elements of the original constant while also utilizing the TV format to make each of the main characters a lot more complex and introducing modern-day elements such as the internet and cyberbullying that make this adaptation more accessible to modern audiences, so for that I applaud the showrunners. However, in the final episode, this show definitely reminds you that it was made by Amazon. They introduce elements that apparently are absent in the book and make certain decisions that can really only be justified because they want to do the big corporation thing and milk the bejesus out of their Stephen King liscence. Now, I have not read the book, so I do not know exactly what they added or what they kept the same, but the fact that they already greenlit season 2 when season 1 told the entire narrative of Carrie does leave me a bit nervous as to the future of the show.

I have seen this movie at least a dozen times and the plot is still so intricate that I can barely wrap my head around it, and it will take another few watched before I fully can (Thats a good thing btw it means I get to watch this movie a few more times) Also Happy Halloween!!! The first pic is my costume this year :D
