Madame Web
Wow! Last night I had the pleasure of kicking back with a nice cold Pepsi and watching Madame Web. I have to say, I enjoyed this story immensely, and it went down as smoothly as real sugar, nonglucose/fructose-based syrup. The film's strength is in its characters, each with their own distinctive personality flavors that make them special. Cassandra Webb is the classic Pepsi of the group, the overarching taste that connects all the delicious subgroups. You also have Julia Cornwall, who serves as the movie's Pepsi Mango, a sweet flavor that also has a powerful undertone when the need arises. Mattie Franklin is a classic Wild Cherry-type character with her fiery personality and killer zingers. Lastly, tying it all together is Anya Corazon, possessing intelligence as piercingly potent as a Pepsi Pineapple (now available exclusively at your local Little Caesars). Unfortunately, this film is not without its flaws. Tahar Rahim's dastardly Ezekiel comes up somewhat bland, as while he displays all the outward spider traits of our fearsome foursome, the ingredients of his personality are no better than the high fructose corn syrup and phosphoric acid mixture that is the Coca-Cola blend. Overall, however, this film is pure magic, a bundle of delectably sweet characters preserved in a package as pristine as shining aluminum. Five bags of popcorn for Pepsi's Madame Web.
