Adolescence
this was just absolutely amazing. episode 3 is definitely my favorite, and i think it’s probably the best episode when it comes to understanding jamie and his actions, with episode 4 following and showing exactly how he ended up like that—his father. i’ve seen some mixed reviews saying how they didn’t show exactly how boys get radicalized or acknowledge katie enough, but i think everything is there if you just look, but that could just be something i naturally look for an enjoy. not everything was surface level or spoon fed which i personally enjoyed. you can even interpret the treatment of jade as a take on the adultification of black girls which i’ll hold back on that because if i start referring to the entire research project i did on it in social psych i fear i might not stop … but past that, as someone planning to go into psychotherapy this was also just perfect for me, and did honestly make me think how would i handle a situation like this since i’ve considered the counseling route for adolescence (no pun intended). the acting was incredible, the story was incredible, and every emmy awards that was given as 1000% deserved.
