Andrei Rublev
A mosaic of time that tells a visual poem.
“I see the world through your eyes, I hear through your ears, with your heart…”
An absolute masterpiece by Tarkovsky. It feels almost impossible to write a review that could encompass all the themes explored throughout the film. With each act, the story becomes increasingly intense on a moral level while drawing you deeper into its psychological grip.
It can't really be categorized as a religious film, but it certainly explores those themes as a way of delving into moral and spiritual reflection. Throughout the different acts, we see the struggle between passion, personal beliefs, envy, fear, greed, guilt, and everything, it´s just amazing.
I´ll probably rewatch this many times in the future.
