As a biggest mortal Kombat nerd, this movie is pretty decent considering all the facts. I really liked that they showed a hell of a lot characters from Mortal Kombat 3 ultimate which is my favourite mortal Kombat game after 9. Despite the cheesy graphics, the movie sucked through emotions and dialogues, they lacked soul and were rushed. I remember watching this as a kid with my father and this is kind of my comfort movie. I can see why it’s bad for everyone else.

*“Nothing sorts out memories from ordinary moments. Later on they do claim remembrance.”* *“This face, which was to be the only peacetime image to survive the war.”* *“He never knew whether he was drawn to the past by the fear of the future, or to the future by the memory of the past.”* *“A single moment to remember, and to be remembered by.”* *“There is no way out of time”* Even though it’s made almost entirely of still photographs, it feels more emotionally alive than many modern movies. The film turns memory into something physical fragmented, fragile, and impossible to escape. Its exploration of time, loss, and destiny stays with you long after it ends. What impressed me most was how much atmosphere and tension it creates with so little movement. The narration is poetic without becoming pretentious, and the airport scene at the end completely recontextualizes everything that came before it. The famous blinking sequence is also unforgettable because it suddenly feels like life itself breaking through the stillness.

I don’t know what to think of it I only see it as looks matter in black pill way, because for me the plot of the movie was rather bland and pretty boring sometimes, I mean there wasn't any much going on and some scenes felt rushed or skipped or unexplained which for some seems better but for me it wasn’t. On the other hand look at that godly cinematography, this is definitely the best cinematography I’ve seen in any movie, each shot is just pure perfection, I crave to be like that, sometimes I am, sometimes I am not, but damn the shots are just delicious, if not for the shots I would probably leave the movie. I can see it as someone’s comfort movie even though there’s real animal violence. The movie felt kind of soulless for me, if you rate as an adaptation I’d say most of it is pretty bad except for the cinematography. Only love it for that.

*“People who know what they want.. scare me”* Violence as misery’s mask. Blackness covering the bodies of youth; cloaks of calamity on round pegs pushed in square holes where they weren’t meant to fit. Darlings in a larva state, enfolded in malaise like caterpillars in the dirt yanked from the bliss of youth and buried in the mire of reality. Reclaim my dreams for me. Swing for the fences. Bloom in the soil they said we never could. We aren’t supposed to just dry up. If he can do it, so can you. And you. And you, too. Though there is chaos inside, there is peace in the garden.
