sooo meaningful to me for no reason other than the fact that it's pretty and colourful hahaahahahhaaha... (it changed my life. i would not be who i am today without it.)
an absolute masterpiece in the sense that you WILL want to kill yourself or live to somehow reproduce the high of watching this for the first time once again. fun fact when i first watched this i did it on my laptop in the living room?? i hid in the bathroom to sob my eyes out afterwards
when can i live my dream of falling in love with the beautiful lesbian florist after locking eyes with her at my own fucking wedding
just a miracle really to live in a world where this movie was made. i think about the dining scene every day you are so loved diane :( if she doesn't want you i DO! also it is my dream to see this on the big screen
broke my heart multiple times over like i think i spent the entirety of this film's runtime crying. felt like araki poured his heart out onto the silver screen
fuckass movie... felt like i got physically hit when i saw that ending and started sobbing like this shit actually happened to me too. martha's monologue is sooo important to me and will continue to be for the rest of my life.
i feel like this is something not meant to be understood through its first watch. but you Will realise what it's about. (you will because you must.) so personal that you feel like you're intruding.
thought the rest of the film wouldn't be as viscerally disorienting as that opening sequence (which, my god!), but i was wrong. i will never understand this shit but ykw that's what life is about
had this at 4.5 stars for a long while, but i couldn't stop thinking about it since. haven't seen anyone talk about how uncanny and horrifying some sequences looked. one of the most underrated parts of the film
i watched twenty minutes of this and immediately knew that i had to rate it five stars
see when i watched this late at night in the dark in my room the course of my life was forever changed. also dream halloween costume
yeah so i can't really explain why other than the fact that this was my shit for a WHILE (what can i say............. i love me some enemies to lovers..........)
absolutely phenomenal film. so precise and yet so effortless. something else entirely. i feel like i just ascended.
plot twists utilised perfectly in this film. certainly not perfect but man does chan-wook have a talent for storytelling.
might have one of the best endings of all time. in love with both lead performances. also i dare say more quotable than mean girls
fantastic premise, hilarious, campy, fun body horror, isabella rosselini, two girls fighting over a dude that just happens to be bruce willis i mean what more can one ask for
so divisive but i don't give a shit i know so many people say the final act is extremely on the nose but you know what i love it for that very reason
always talked about for its horror but man is it beautiful. it felt like watching moving artwork on my screen
fight club for insane lesbians except i still haven't seen fight club so we'll see about that. (edit: now i have and all i have to say about this is that fight club is the gayest movie i have ever watched so really i guess fight clubs are inherently gay which is my hypothesis. both are extremely goated movies so i guess fight clubs make good films which is another one of my hypotheses. what the fuck am i saying though)
watched this in year nine and immediately fell in love. there's no other movie more hilarious and heartbreaking and real and majestical
i find this to be a perfect movie personally... i can't believe i haven't watched it in all my years of living
without a doubt it is theeee best in the franchise. probably one of my favourite animated movies ever.
maybe it's the fact that i had to write an entire essay about this film, but other than the perfect plot, the perfect tropes, the perfect characters, and the perfect soundtrack, it's the detail that really gets me. the moment where patrick falls in love with kat is marked by her throwing up on his shoes, but the audience gets it because of the music in that scene (watch it!). the moment where patrick refuses to kiss kat because she was drunk was the perfect way to begin subverting the stereotypes that the audience had unconsciously fixed on him. the moment where the pair slow dance to a rock song (kat's favourite, naturally) as everyone around them jumps and cheers reveals the depth of their connection. this is sounding like my stupid essay but i just love this movie so much
no clue how i had this at 4.5 stars for sooo long but now i have seen the LIGHT! i think about the cast of this film every day
