Hawkeye
episode one:
first off, i’m like, in love with christmasy marvel vibes that we have in this and what a brilliant opening scene to introduce kate whilst referencing back to the first avengers movie. the pacing is really nice, constantly engaging. the mentions of natasha and clints feelings about her death were actually heartbreaking, deadass was getting teary eyed over it. ALSO!!!!! finally, deaf clint like in the comics.
episode two:
THIS SHOW IS MAKING ME LIKE CLINT, he’s finally like, enjoyable to watch??? him patching up kate’s wounds and not wanting her to have to be burdened with the title of ronan when it was his actions that accumulated all those enemies. he’s just radiating comfort in this series, people have said it’s possibly bcs he’s acting more like his comic character so i’m gonna roll with it. it’s kinda cute seeing an avenger doing a heist/mission by themselves, would have loved to have seen more of this style with the other avengers also but… sobs.. nevermind… - anyways, so far, again the pacing was great, really engaging, looking forward to episode three, all the characters are suspicious and interesting. so far, the hawkeye series is really good and i hope it continues impressing me!
episode three:
another enjoyable episode! really loved seeing echo and more into her past, from this episode alone she appears to be a very interesting character, i look forward to seeing more of her. i’m also really happy to see clint state that he isn’t a role model to kate, bcs i have a feeling when she ends up finding out she’s going to feel destroyed by it and clint needs to keep her expectations of himself low in her eyes as much as possible. not to mention, i was lowkey a little teary when clint needed kate to write down what is son was saying to him on the phone, you could just see so much emotional struggle in his face and voice, especially being able to hear the world from his perspective. this show really is hitting the mark each time. :D. ps, keep mentioning natasha and i’ll keep bawling about it
episode four:
i am fucking speechless. HOW. HOWWW IS THIS SERIES GETTING BETTER AND BETTER AND BETTER WITH EACH WEEK. i’m so.. i’m so in love with this series. kate basically treating clint as a father figure, considering she hasn’t been able to do all these things with her own father in so long so to try and make clint’s christmas easier on him because he can’t be with his family is just so damn cute and heartbreaking. i’m so so excited to see what else they’ll show us in the upcoming episodes because so far it has given me the perfect concoction of angst, comfort and christmas festivities! when watching this series you really see just how underdeveloped clint’s personality is in the films compared to his own show and i’m so pleased to see he is being written to be an actually enjoyable presence on screen. he’s real, he refuses to view himself a hero but simply a weapon. he won’t hold himself to a high standard because he knows a hero status is perfection which he cannot be. the realness to him is so beautiful. my favourite scene out of this whole fucking episode was when clint took his hearing aid out and you can just see the flashing nightmares that haunt him day and night without letting him rest. the pain in his voice and face is just… it’s shattering. ALSO!!!! YELENA!!!! BABY!!!! YOU’RE FINALLY HERE!!!! i cant wait to see how clint and yelena will be with one another, will it just continue fighting or will there be a discussion on what had happened to natasha for yelena’s grief to get some closure. lastly, my heart fell at the parallel that was put into that fight scene. clint watching kate be thrown off the roof, it was just a complete mess of his mind, thinking he was about to lose kate the same way he lost his best friend.
episode five:
THIS EP WAS LIKE 80% YELENA AND IM NOT COMPLAINING AT ALL, SHE IS SO AMAZING I LOVE HER!!!! finally finally seeing her before and after the confusing and devastation of the blip. also really showing that she’s not here to hurt kate, could be a potentially really cute friendship to blossom between them. clint talking to nat and apologising for what he’s about to do was so… heartbreaking.. MARVEL STOP HURTING ME. clint loves nat so fucking much and now he knows yelena is the one after him.. i feel like he’s going to accept that.. purely because he feels as though he deserves it. AND HOLY SHIT, THE BIG MAN, MAN THE MYTH THE LEGEND, KINGPIN. AT THE END. SHIT. FUCK. HELLO SIR??? deadass there’s no way kate’s mum isnt into major shady shit and hiding behind other people to get shit done.
episode six:
YEAHHH WOOOOO, that was SO fun! i’m so so satisfied with that finale which, is hard to say about most of the marvel series’ so far. the fight and heartbreaking back and forth between clint and yelena, just so much love for natasha that they just don’t know how to go on without her. when yelena said ‘you got so much time with her..’ that was SO FUCKING SAD. like, she really didn’t get to spent enough time with her sister, no amount of time would ever be enough but she deserved more, both of them did. CLINT DOING THE SECRET WHISTLE I LITERALLY SLAPPED MY HAND OVER MY MOUTH. kingpin, big guy, finally having some more screen time in this and let’s be honest, mans doing okay, that split away shot was basically saying ‘mans is alive.’ i was so happy to see clint invite kate over for christmas since she hasn’t got anyone at the moment , the only thing i’d add to that is… i wanted to yelena to also be invited. she could have heard stories from the kids about their auntie nat and meet little nathaniel. it would have been so sweet. but, i understand why they didn’t, yelena is going through a lot with this new understanding that nat’s death was a sacrifice not an act of killing. seriously, so fucking good. even the little side characters were good and usually i have a hard time recognising side characters in scenes but they stood out and held their own when it was their time which is really amazing. JACK ACTUALLY BEING A HIMBO?? GOOD FOR HIM.
