there could be two kinds of people in the Allegory of the Cave. one who chooses to leave, to face the disorientation of truth and everything that comes with it. and another who even after being shown the possibility of something beyond, still chooses to stay because the shadows are familiar, and familiarity is easier to live with than the weight of knowing. this sick ahh lenny lives in that second possibility. at some point it stops being about memory loss and starts feeling like the possibility that knowing fully would dismantle the only thing keeping you moving forward just because you curated that purpose yourself, and for yourself.* *
