Black Swan
A lot to unpack here...
This was an extremely captivating watch where I'm not sure I understand everything currently. So the mother is clearly living her ballet dreams through Nina which gives reason for how strict and attached she is to her. This supports reason for her fragility and innocence in the beginning of the film. When she earns the role of Queen Swan, she naturally embodies the White Swan but completely lacks the ability to portray the more seductive and sexually expressive Black Swan. I'm still unsure about Mila Kunis and her character, but I think Nina imagined/made up every evil part about Lilly which enabled her to immerse into the role of Black Swan (the jealousy and fear). Clearly, Nina had so many desires bottled up because of her Mother which culminated in her snapping. Her transformation into the Black Swan (literally and figuratively) represented these feelings finally being let out??
