The Substance

Incredible movie, constantly flips between uber-sexy and uber-disgusting, and I am all here for it. Fantastic performance by Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, I loved the incredibly subtle moments in Sue's scenes where her insecurities were highlighted, like the scene where she's looking at the gap in her teeth, or covering up worrying about fat in her butt. The most devastating scene was by far when Demi couldn't leave her apartment due to her insecurities, incredibly powerful. Then the last 30 minutes happens and it is some of the most cringe-inducing body horror (in a good way) and also full of almost comedic performances. Goblin mode Demi was a highlight. Incredible movie, one of the best body horror films I've seen.
