Dune: Part Two
i wish letterboxd had 6 favourites because im probably going to put this back in my top 4 but i really dont want to remove anything.
stunning cinematography HOW DO YOU MAKE WORMS LOOK SO COOL. when Paul (Timothée Chalamet) first rides the Sandworm, its the first time where every single element put into a film is at its highest peak of anything ever.
this film makes me feel things not many others can. I’ll never forget my first watch in that theatre with my Dad, i was thinking about this and talking to him about it for weeks and months after.
this rewatch was LONG overdue i honestly should have had 10+ by now, not sure why its taken me this long but im just as speechless as i was the first time.
this film should have taken home every Oscar in the books, it probably would if it came out in September rather than March.
Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Freguson, Austin Butler, and every single other member of this star atudded brilliant cast bring this together in a way that can hardly be put into words. not even an ounce of a smidge of a bad performance even stepped close to this film.
Denis Villeneuve. you inspire me to maybe one day work on movies myself as a Canadian. not a soul could have brought Dune to life better than you have, and im relentlessly waiting for Dune Messiah, if that tops this then man im going to have some PROBLEMS with my top 4.
there are just endless quotes and moments that make me have an out of body experience i genuinely cant believe such a masterpiece was created in my lifetime. such a gorgeous thrilling life changing piece of art thats altered my brain chemistry not once but twice, and definitely not for the last time.
i could go on and on and on about this film for seconds minutes hours days weeks months years decades centuries. my ears and eyes have been blessed once again.
i cant wait to see Anya Taylor-Joy in Messiah.
